Whistle-blower who led the EFCC to Ikoyi apartment where N13bn was found may reportedly get N325m reward

The whisteblower who led the Economic and Finacial Crimes Commision (EFCC) to the $1.6m apartment in Ikoyi, Lagos where the recovered the sums of $43,449,947, £27,800 and N23,218,000 in April 2017, may reportedly be paid 325m naira. The Federal Government’s whistle-blower polic  states that any whistle-blower whose information leads to the recovery of over N5bn will attract a 2.5 per cent reward and that is 325m of the 13 billion naira recovered. Speaking at the ongoing 7th Session of the Conference of States Parties to the United Nations Convention Against Corruption holding in Vienna, acting Chairman of the EFCC - Ibrahim Magu, did not disclose how much would be given to the whistle-blower while he disclosed that the anti-graft agency was counselling the man on how to make good use of the money. Stop Building Mosques And Start Doing This.. Emir of Kano tell wealthy Northerners

The Emir of Kano, Mallam Muhammad Sanusi II called on wealthy Northerners to use the wealth Allah blessed them with, only in building mosques but to also educate young girls and discourage their early marriage. Sanusi made the call on Thursday in his keynote address at the 3rd international conference on Islamic Banking and Finance, organised by the International Institute of Islamic Banking and Finance, Bayero University, Kano. He said, “I’m just tired of people coming to me to say I want to build a new mosque. You know, we keep building mosques and our daughters are illiterates. “So, my appeal is that if you really want to help Kano, don’t come to me with a request to build a N300m mosque because I have enough mosques everywhere. And if I don’t have a mosque, I’ll build it myself. Boko Haram attacks IDP camp bombed by Nigeria's Air Force

Days after the accidental bombing by a Nigerian air force jet, which killed at least 54 persons, Rann IDP Camp in Borno State came under another attack, this time, by Boko Haram insurgents. Witnesses in Rann said soldiers deployed to secure the bombed IDP camp battled for hours to repel over 100 Boko Haram gunmen who came attacking at about 6pm. A source from Rann said the soldiers stood their ground and killed eight of the attacking insurgents. The source, who asked not to be quoted for his security sake, said a soldier was wounded in the attack. On Tuesday, the Theatre Commander of the Lafiya Dole counterinsurgency operations in northeast Nigeria, Major General Lucky Irabor, said the air force jet that mistakenly bombed the IDP camp was actually deployed to take on an idea identified location where Boko Haram insurgents were gathering in Kala-Balge local government area of Borno State. Stranded MMM Nigeria investors cry out as MMM reopens

Mavrodi Mondial Moneybox, a Ponzi scheme known simply as MMM, on Friday reopened in Nigeria for business after one month of break. Aliyu Ahmed Kabir is a 2013 Geology and Mining graduate of the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, Bauchi. He also earned a certificate in Environmental Health from the College of Health Technology, Ningi, Bauchi State. 70% of Igbos don’t listen to radio or read newspapers' - Imo state government says

Lagos state governor, Akinwunmi Ambode, says despite the prevailing economic recession, the Lagos state government generated more revenue in 2016 than it did in 2015.
